Romania to Raise Salaries of Teaching Staff
The centre-left government of Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Tuesday announced plans to increase the salaries of employees in the state education sector by 15 per cent, starting from December.
This follows a 25 per cent raise earlier this month in the wages of Romanian doctors and nurses, which are among the lowest in Europe.

NATO Defence Ministers Agree to Set Up Two More Force Integration Units
At their meeting in Brussels on Thursday, the defence ministers of NATO member countries agreed to set up two Force Integration Units in Hungary and Slovakia.

Romania Offers Cash-Strapped Moldova Loan
Romania is to loan 150 million euro to Moldova to help it bolster its currency and continue work on several infrastructure projects.
The five-year loan, with a 1.5 per cent annual interest rate, was signed late on Wednesday in Chisinau, Moldova, but has to be approved by both countries' parliaments.
