Industrial production prices up 0.4 percent in March (official statistics)

Industrial production prices in Romania advanced 0.4 percent overall, 0.4 percent on the domestic market and 0.6 percent on the foreign markets in March, compared to February, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Tuesday.

Romanian Economy to Register 3-4% Growth over Next Years

The Romanian economy will increase by over 3 % annually in the period between 2015 and 2017, reaching 4 % yearly growth rate in 2018.

This is foreseen by the Convergence Programme, which is revised annually by the government and sent to the European Union (EU).

Romanian Mayor Investigated for Spying on Girlfriend

Prosecutors alleged that Gheorghe Nichita, the mayor of Iasi, the largest city in eastern Romania, used local police officers to keep his girlfriend, a city hall employee, under surveillance.

Nichita also installed a surveillance application on her mobile phone in an attempt to track her, it was alleged.
