After over two years of discussions, Romania is to finally adopt changes to the Forest Law to better protect the country's forests against the actions of illegal loggers.
Day of War Veterans celebrated at the MApN
The Day of War Veterans was celebrated on Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence (MApN), in the presence of Defence Minister Mircea Dusa in a show featuring folk songs performed by well-known artists of the genre, such as Veta Biris, Gheorghe Rosoga, Sava Negrean Brudascu.

Iohannis: We have to place education and culture back in their rightful places
AGERPRES special correspondent Florentina Peia reports: At a meeting on Tuesday in Rome with Romanian students studying in Italy on scholarships, President Klaus Iohannis said education and culture should be placed back in their rightful places in the hierarchy of things that matter to the success of people and the society.

PM Ponta: We have EC and EP support for accession to Schengen, we still have to persuade one or two countries
Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Tuesday said that Romania has the support of the European Commission and the European Parliament concerning the accession to the Schengen area, however it still has to persuade "one or two member states" which "still have reserves" in this regard.

Iran Detains Ship with Bulgarians on Board
Iran has detained a cargo ship with citizens of Bulgaria, Myanmar, Romania, and the UK on board in the Strait of Hormuz.
A Bulgarian captain was in command of the vessel which was sailing under the Marshall Islands' flag, Bulgarian media outlets report citing AFP news agency.

Romania Lists Fund in London to Lure Investors
Fondul Proprietatea, a closed-end fund managed by Franklin Templeton, is set to be listed on April 29 on the London Stock Exchange, LSE, in a move to attract new investors to Romania.
Fondul will pay some 4.2 million euro for its secondary listing on the Stoke Exchange, according to the listing prospectus.
