Romania's Halep advances to the semi-finals of the Miami Open 2015 WTA tennis tournament
Romania's tennis player Simona Halep, currently the world's number three, on Wednesday advanced to the semi-finals of the women's singles event of the 5,381,235-US-dollar Miami Open 2015 WTA tennis tournament as she defeated US Sloane Stephens on Wednesday, 6-1, 7-5.

PM Ponta, Turkish President Erdogan attend signing of bilateral agreements

ForMin Aurescu underscores strictly defensive nature of missile shield, says threats over it unacceptable
Romania's Foreign Minister Bogdn Aurescu on Wednesday welcomed Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) General Phillip M. Breedlove, on which occasion he underscored the strictly defensive nature of the Deveselu missile defence shield as well as the unacceptable character of threats against Romania's allies over this issue, Romania's Foreign Ministry (MAE) reports in a press release.
Romania Detains Son of Ex-President of Moldova
A Bucharest court on Wednesday placed Moldovan businessman Sergiu Lucinschi in custody for two months after he was arrested on charges of blackmail and influence peddling.
Sergiu Lucinschi, who also holds Romanian citizenship, is the youngest son of Petru Lucinschi, President of Moldova from 1997 to 2001.
