Serbia out of Davis Cup after shock defeat to Slovakia
KRALJEVO - Serbia are out of the tennis Davis Cup after a shock 4-0 defeat to Slovakia in a qualifier for the competition's group stage, played in Kraljevo, central Serbia, at the weekend.
On Friday, Serbia's Miomir Kecmanovic lost (7-6 (7-2) 6-2) to Lukas Klein and Dusan Lajovic was defeated 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 by Alex Molcan.
Defeat to Sinner ends Djokovic's Australian Open campaign
MELBOURNE - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, is out of the Australian Open after losing 6-1, 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 6-3 to Italian Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals in Melbourne on Friday.
Sinner, who won after three hours and 22 minutes of play, is now 3-4 head-to-head against Djokovic after three consecutive wins over the Serbian.
Red Star v FMP, Partizan v Hercegovac in Serbian basketball cup
BELGRADE - Title holders Red Star Belgrade were on Tuesday drawn to play FMP in the quarter-finals of Serbia's Radivoj Korac basketball cup, with arch-rivals Partizan to face Hercegovac Gajdobra, who will make their first-ever appearance in the competition.
The other two quarter-final games are Borac Cacak v Cacak 94 and Mega v Vojvodina Novi Sad.

Serbia lose to Hungary in European water polo championship quarter-finals
ZAGREB - The Serbia men's national water polo team lost 15-14 on penalties to Hungary in the quarter-finals of the European Championship in Zagreb on Friday.
The match ended 10-10 (3-3, 2-2, 4-3, 1-2) at full time.
Hungary converted all their penalty shots, while Serbia's Marko Radulovic dropped the ball before making his attempt.

MELBOURNE - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, will play Croatian youngster Dino Prizmic in the first round of the Australian Open on Sunday.
After defeating Argentine Mariano Navone and compatriot Duje Ajdukovic, Prizmic beat Tunisian Aziz Dougaz 6-3, 6-4 on Friday morning to complete the qualifications for the Australian Open.
Djokovic completes first training session in Melbourne ahead of Aussie Open
