Alcaraz comes from behind to defeat Djokovic in Riyadh exhibition match

RIYADH - Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz came from behind to defeat Serbia's Novak Djokovic 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a season-opening exhibition match in Riyadh on Wednesday evening.

Djokovic and Alcaraz, the world number one and world number two in men's tennis singles, produced an excellent display that looked like a taster of highly interesting trophy battles to come next year.

BACKA TOPOLA - Serbia's TSC lost 1-0 at home to English Premier League side West Ham United in a UEFA Europa League Group A Matchday 5 game on Thursday evening.

TSC missed several chances in the first half in Backa Topola and Tomas Soucek scored the winner for the visitors in the 89th minute.

Serbia to host Slovakia in Davis Cup Finals qualifiers

MALAGA - The Serbia Davis Cup team was on Sunday drawn to host Slovakia in the qualifiers for next season's Davis Cup Finals.

In a statement, the Tennis Association of Serbia said the tie was scheduled for February 2-3 or February 3-4 next year.

The draw was held in Malaga, where Serbia lost 2-1 to Italy in the semi-finals of this season's Davis Cup Finals on Saturday.

Djokovic beats Norrie to secure Davis Cup semi-final slot for Serbia

MALAGA - Novak Djokovic beat Briton Cameron Norrie 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday evening to secure a semi-final slot for Serbia at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga.

Djokovic won after a hundred minutes of play.

Earlier in the afternoon, Miomir Kecmanovic defeated Jack Draper to give Serbia a 1-0 lead in the tie.
