Turkey to face Germany in Tokyo 2020 volleyball quals

Turkey's national volleyball team will take on Germany in the CEV European qualification finals for the 2020 Olympic Games on Jan. 11, after beating Poland 3-2.

In the match at Omnisport Apeldoorn, Turkey defeated Poland in five sets 25 - 19, 18 - 25, 25 - 23, 31 - 33 and 11 - 15.

Outside hitter Meryem Boz was the best player scoring 36 points.

Volleyball: Turkish women to fight for 2020 Olympics

The volleyball qualifiers for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will start in the Netherlands on Jan. 7.

The eight teams are set to join the CEV Tokyo Volleyball European Qualification 2020 in the city of Apeldoorn.

Turkey, Netherlands, Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, Belgium, Croatia, and Azerbaijan will compete to qualify for the 2020 Olympics.

National flag carrier Turkish Airlines on Dec. 24 became the official air carrier of the largest international sports event in Serbia, race organizers announced.

The Belgrade Marathon and Turkish Airlines signed a contract in Serbia's capital Belgrade making it the official air carrier of the 33rd Belgrade Marathon 2020, the statement said.
