Slovenia’s EuroBasket hopes dashed
Slovenia lost the first two games at the European Women Basketball Championship, ruining their prospects to make it to the quarter-finals for the first time, the goal at what is their fourth EuroBasket to date.
The team lost against Germany 62:66 at Stožice Arena in Ljubljana on 16 June and 71:76 against Great Britain on 15 June, when the event opened.

Judoka Andreja Leški won silver for Slovenia at the World Championships in Doha on 10 May, having to concede to multiple world and Olympic champion Clarisse Agbegnenou of France in the final yet again.
Competing in the under 63kg category, Leški had also won silver at the 2021 World Championships in Budapest after being defeated by Agbegnenou in the final.

Anže Krevh, a 22-year-old who has been playing the diatonic button accordion since age five has set an unofficial accordion marathon world record. He played non-stop for 53 hours, 53 minutes and 53 seconds this weekend, beating the previous record by more than two hours.
