Iran suspends soccer ties with Greece after friendly nixed

Iran's soccer federation has suspended all relations with its Greek counterpart after a friendly between the two nations scheduled in Istanbul was abruptly cancelled amid ongoing Greece-Turkey tensions.

Iran reports EPO to FIFA for canceled friendly game

Greek soccer's problems are piling up, as after the troubled relations with world governing body FIFA that have brought the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) on the brink of exclusion from the international game, the Iranian federation has reported Greece to FIFA seeking compensation for a pre-World Cup friendly between the two countries that EPO has canceled.

Protesting migrants block highway in Greece

The protest, which lasted for an hour, was organized by Kurdish migrants from the Diavati center in the western suburbs of Thessaloniki, causing a big traffic jam, Tanjug said, citing AP.

The capacity of the camp is 750 people, but it currently accommodates 1,850 migrants who came to Greece from Turkey.

As reported, the newly arrived migrants sleep in tents and on the floor.
