BELGRADE - Famous basketball coach Aleksandar Petrovic died on Monday at the age of 56 after a long disease.

Petrovic was born in Pozega on October 14, 1959 and during his career, he coached Belgrade-based Radnicki, Hemofarm, FMP, Lokomotiv - Rostov, UNICS, Zalgiris and Azovmash.

Galatasaray appoints former player as new coach

Galatasaray appointed its former midfielder and current Turkey assistant coach Hamza Hamzaoğlu as its new coach Dec. 1 after parting ways with Italian Cesare Prandelli last week.
