Curfew declared in Turkey's Silvan

A curfew was declared on March 25 in the Silvan district of the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r ahead of operations against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), the district governor's office has announced.

The curfew was declared in 18 neighborhoods and villages of Silvan on March 25 at 11 a.m. until further notice, District Gov. Murat Kütük said in a statement.

UK citizen detained in Turkish capital for being ISIL member

Ankara police has detained a U.K. citizen for being a member of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), which has recently attacked a major thoroughfare of Istanbul. 

The suspect, identified as M.A. by police sources, was captured at a hotel in the Alt?nda? district of the Turkish capital on March 25.

An Istanbul court ruled on March 25 for the whole trial to be held in secret, in the controversial case of Cumhuriyet editor-in-chief Can Dündar and Ankara bureau chief Erdem Gül.

The hearing was adjourned until April 1, as MPs in attendance refused to leave the courtroom after their request to follow the hearings was rejected by the judges.
