Turkey builds 'first two-story container refugee camp'

Turkey has prepared two-story container homes for refugees at a camp in southeastern province of Kilis in anticipation of a fresh influx of people fleeing from a nearby Syrian town, a provincial deputy governor has said.

The Kilis Öncüp?nar refugee camp, established in 2012, already hosts more than 13,000 people.

KRG says oil flow to Turkey interrupted after attacks

Crude oil export from the Kurdistan Region to Turkey's Ceyhan Port has been interrupted since Feb. 16 following attacks on the export pipeline near the southeastern province of ?anl?urfa in Turkey, said the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in a written statement on. The Turkish parliament has failed to release a joint declaration condemning a suicide bomb on Feb. 17 that targeted a military convoy in Ankara, due to objections on the statement's wording by one of the four political parties represented at the national assembly.

HSBC expected to make announcement about future of Turkey unit soon

HSBC is expected to make an announcement about plans for its Turkey unit on Feb. 22, a source close to the matter has told Anadolu Agency. 

The bank, which had said earlier it would sell its Turkey unit, will reveal its plans about restructuring in the country, according to the source. 

YPG renames strategic airbase in northern Syria after PKK leader

The Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) have renamed the Menagh air base in northern Syria after the imprisoned leader of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) Abdullah Öcalan, British newspaper The Times reported on Feb. 18.

Turkey became the European Union's fifth largest trade partner in 2015, according to data released by Eurostat.

According to a new report, the EU exported goods worth 2.04 trillion euros ($2.27 trillion) in 2015, while total imports stood at 1.79 trillion euros.

Explosion rocks military convoy in Turkey's southeast, casualties reported

A large explosion hit a military convoy on Feb. 18 in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r.

The blast occurred on the Diyarbak?r-Bingöl highway at around 9.40 a.m. during the passing of a military convoy.

Casualties have been reported after the attack, which was reportedly staged by outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants after the detonation of a roadside bomb.
