Former HDP lawmaker demands acquittal during retrial in Istanbul
The retrial of a former lawmaker who was convicted of being a member of a terrorist organization in 2012 started on June 24 in Istanbul.
Sebahat Tuncel, a former deputy of the Kurdish problem-focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), attended the hearing at Istanbul's 10th High Penal Court as a defendant with her 10 lawyers on June 25.
Turkey denies allegations that ISIS assaulted Kobane from Turkish soil
Tanju Bilgiç, a spokesman for the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs spoke to journalists today, during a press conference, and categorically denied all allegations that ISIS fighters entered Kobane from Turkish soil.
He stated that after the jihadist attack against Kobane, 63 injured were transferred to Turkey, and two of them are dead, including a child.
IFC agrees to $172 million loan to fund Turkey's hospital plan
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) said on June 25 it has agreed to loan 154 million euros ($172 million) to finance the building of a planned healthcare complex in Ankara.
The IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, said in a statement the loan would fund the 1.1 billion euro ($1.23 billion) integrated campus.
Turkey ranked 10th cheapest country in Europe
Turkey became Europe's 10th cheapest country in terms of goods and services in 2014, the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜ?K) said in a written statement on June 25.
The comparisons were made between prices in the 28 EU member countries, Switzerland, Iceland, Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia, Albania and Bosnia Herzegovina.
