Part of nuclear waste site collapses in Washington state

A portion of a storage tunnel that contains rail cars full of radioactive waste collapsed Tuesday morning, forcing an emergency declaration at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in southeastern Washington state.
Officials detected no release of radiation and no workers were injured, said Randy Bradbury, a spokesman for the Washington state Department of Ecology.

Turkey issues NAVTEX blockading Greek island of Kastellorizo!

Tensions between Greece and Turkey are rising after the latter issued an international warning Navigational Telex signal (NAVTEX) effectively blockading access around the Greek island of Kastellorizo. Military sources in Athens note that the Navtex signal has completely encircled the Greek isle, which is located only 2km off the western coast of Turkey.

Intersection in Chicago Has Been Named After Aleko Konstantinov

An intersection in Chicago has been named after the one of Bulgaria's most beloved writers, Aleko Konstantinov, marking the 120th anniversary of his death, Nova TV reported.

The idea was realized only for several months of talks with the municipality in Chicago.

The proposal was submitted by the municipal councilor John Arina on the idea of our consul general Ivan Anchev.

Skopje's State Gazette has published the decision for the election of Talat Xhaferi as a new chair of the Macedonian parliament, quoted by BNR.

A police deputy director was arrested by internal affairs officers Tuesday on multiple charges of bribery and blackmail of businessmen. Investigating officers were led to the suspect after a complaint was filed by a businessman who claimed he was being blackmailed to pay money in order to avoid visits by state financial inspectors and auditors.
