Hellbach: Serbia belongs in EU, economic progress evident
BELGRADE - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday met with Christian Hellbach, the German Federal Foreign Office envoy for southeastern Europe, who said Serbia's future was in the EU and that it was making significant progress, in particular in the economy.
Vucic and Hellbach discussed Serbia's European integration, regional relations and the common European future.
Vucic to meet with Stoltenberg Wednesday
BRUSSELS - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic will meet with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg at the alliance's Brussels headquarters on Wednesday.
Vucic will also meet with North Atlantic Council representatives, the alliance has announced.
In a statement submitted to Tanjug last month, NATO said it fully respected Serbia's policy of military neutrality.
PM Vucic visits United Arab Emirates
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met on Friday in the United Arab Emirates with Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.
According to the Serbian government's website, they "discussed bilateral cooperation, numerous joint projects, and relations in the world and the Western Balkans."
EU shouldn't freeze accession talks with Turkey: Germany
The European Union should not freeze Turkey's negotiations to join the bloc, Germany's Foreign Ministry said on Nov. 25, a day after members of the European Parliament voted in a non-binding motion in support of such a freeze.
"It is important that we keep talking," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Sawsan Chebli told a regular government news conference.
Trump and Orban swap "black sheep treatment" stories
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been invited to visit the U.S. by that country's president-elect, Donald Trump.
“I spoke with the new U.S. president by telephone, and can say that our position has improved a lot. Donald Trump made clear that he holds Hungary in high regard,” AFP quoted Orban as telling the Vilaggazdasag website.
High Blood Pressure Medications Free-of-Charge As Of New Year
Medicines for high blood pressure will be free-of-charge as of New Year.
This was decided by the Supervisory Board of the National Health Insurance Fund. Up to now, the fund covered between 25% and 50% of the price of the medications.
According to data of the Health Ministry, about 200,000 people in Bulgaria suffer from essential hypertension.
'Green haven' in Black Sea opening to mass housing
The Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKİ) will construct Ottoman-style buildings in the highlands of the Black Sea provinces.
Illegal buildings in the areas will be demolished and TOKİ will construct arcaded buildings with lifts in their place, including in the famous Ayder Plateau, which is a protected area. The construction process is due to start in spring 2017.
110 Kg of Marijuana Discovered at Danube Bridge 2
110 kilogrammes of marijuana have been discovered during an inspection in the area of Danube Bridge 2 Vidin-Kalafat via the joint efforts of Bulgarian and Romanian customs and police authorities.
The drug was hidden in a vehicle leaving the country, driven by a 26-year old Bulgarian citizen, announced the Customs Agency.
