PKK kills another local AKP politician in Turkey's Diyarbakır

A ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) politician was killed by outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the Dicle district of the southeastern province of Diyarbakır on Oct. 11, marking the second such killing by the group in two days.

PKK militants opened fire on Deryan Aktert, the AKP's district chairman in Dicle, while he was at his workplace.        

AKP to show 'zero tolerance' in clearing party of Gülenists: Deputy chair

A senior official from the Justice and Development Party (AKP) has vowed that the party will show "zero tolerance" in clearing itself of sympathizers of U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, denying reports that some Gülenists have been protected by high-ranking AKP officials. 

AKP and CHP to repay money to Treasury, court rules

Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) will have to repay to the Treasury some expenses illegally claimed back in 2011, the Constitutional Court ruled on April 14. 

The ruling came after the court audited political parties' expenses for the year 2011.  

Deputy PM hopeful of opposition support for taking new constitution to referendum

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmu? has voiced optimism for finding enough support to take a new constitution to a referendum with the help of deputies from the opposition parties.
