The Wednesday's CCR ruling referring to the removal from office of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) head has the character of a coup, on Thursday said the PNL (National Liberal Party, opposition) chairman Ludovic Orban, adding that the ruling cannot be taken into consideration and that the Liberals won't stand aside.

Deputy Prime Minister Paul Stanescu considers Private Pensions Pillar II must be optional and the Gov't must explain which are the advantages of this fund, if pensions are higher or lower following contributions to it.

Stanescu reaffirmed that there hasn't been any discussion in the Social Democratic Party (PSD) about suspending Pension Pillar II.

Chairman of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) Calin Popescu Tariceanu stated on Saturday in Timisoara that Prime Minister Viorica Dancila enjoys all his support and that of the ALDE, adding that Chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Ludovic Orban's gesture will be labeled as "a political slip."

However, there was criticism from the opposition about the alleged lack of expertise among some ministers and about a governance plan that has raised fears of further economic uncertainty.

Romania's ruling Social Democrat Party, the PSD, is due to name a new Prime Minister by Monday after it voted the former Prime Minister out of office on Wednesday.
