Saharan dust concentration highest in the south
The highest concentrations of African dust were recorded in southern Greece on Thursday, according to the National Observatory of Athens.
The concentrations of PM10 particles exceeded 180 μg/m³ at noon and then gradually started decreasing.

Foreign Ministry sends note verbale over recent Turkish Navtex
The Foreign Ministry has sent a note verbale to the Turkish government regarding two recent navigational telexes (Navtex) that Ankara issued reserving a large area in the Aegean for aeronautical exercises and linking Greece's sovereignty over a number of islands to their demilitarization.
New Left is getting organized
New Left, the party created out of a split in the main opposition SYRIZA party, will hold an organizing meeting on January 12-13.
The meeting, to be held in Athens, will draw up a founding declaration and prepare a conference, to be held in late February, where the party's governing bodies will presumably be elected.

Prosecutors have given the green light for the release on bail of 30 Croatian nationals arrested in August after a 29-year old man died in violent clashes between soccer clubs fans in Athens.
Serbia supports Greece's request to recover Parthenon sculptures - ambassador
ATHENS - Serbian Ambassador to Greece Dusan Spasojevic said on Wednesday Serbia supported Greece's request to recover Parthenon sculptures from the British Museum.
In a Facebook post, Spasojevic noted that Greece had, and would have, Serbia's open and unequivocal support on this matter in all UN bodies and organisations, including Unesco.
One dead, one missing, in torrential rain
Torrential rains have flooded homes and roads in many parts of Greece and a man died after a wall collapsed in the bad weather, the fire brigade said on Tuesday.

Fire breaks out on the island of Corfu, villages evacuated
A large fire broke out in the northern part of the island of Corfu on Sunday afternoon, adding yet another tourist destination to those affected by large wildfires.
A message was sent via the emergency number 112 for the evacuation of the settlements Santa, Megoula, Porta, Palia Perithia and Sinies.
All roads between Elefsina and Corinth closed due to fires
All roads between Elefsina and Corinth have been closed by order of the police, due to the intensification of wildfires in the region.
The order concerns the new motorway between the two toll stations at Elefsina and Corinth as well as the old national highway.
The roads are the only access points to the Peloponnese from Athens.
