Security lockdown in Istanbul for International Workers' Day
Istanbul is set to mark May 1, International Workers' Day, in a different venue than the contested and symbolic Taksim Square due to security concerns, with this year's celebrations to be held in the Bak?rköy bazaar area amid tight security measures.
Turkey wants to seal trade deal with Qatar: PM
Signing a free trade agreement with Qatar is a major goal for Turkey, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu said April 28, according to Reuters.
Davuto?lu, on an official visit to the Gulf nation, made the comment in a speech at a business forum which was organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DE?K).

15 detained in connection to Bursa suicide attack
A total of 15 suspects have been detained in four different Turkish provinces in relation to the suicide bomb attack that struck the Marmara province of Bursa on April 28. A female suicide bomber detonated herself at around 5:25 p.m. near Ulu Cami, a mosque at the center of the province, on April 27, leaving 23 people wounded.

Two specialized sergeants and a soldier were killed in a bomb attack by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the eastern province of Tunceli on April 22 when militants detonated a bomb while an armored military vehicle was passing by.
The incident occurred at the 25th kilometer of the Tunceli-Elaz?? road at around 10 a.m., after which a security operation was launched.
