Tragic Accident in Northwestern Turkey Claims Lives and Injures Dozens

A devastating chain accident in the northwestern Turkish province of Sakarya resulted in a tragic toll this morning. According to reports from the Anatolian Agency, ten individuals lost their lives, while over 50 sustained injuries in the incident on the Northern Marmara highway toward Istanbul.

A total of 11.2 million foreign tourists visited Turkey in the first ten months of this year, the Anatolian Agency reported, citing data from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Earthquake in Ankara

A 3.7 magnitude earthquake has been reported in the Turkish capital of Ankara, the Anatolian Agency reported. The epicenter of the earthquake is located in the Akyurt region.
The quake was registered at 02.27 local time. Its hearth is at a depth of about 14 km.

Turkey Reports Growth in Tourists

The number of tourists visiting Turkey in the first ten months of the year has increased by 28% compared to the same period last year, the Anatolian Agency reported, citing data from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

From January to October, a total of 29,053,000 tourists arrived in Turkey.

Baghdad Considers Iraqi Kurdistan as "Second Israel"

Iraq will not allow the creation of a "second Israel" in the northern parts of the country, the vice-president and former prime minister Nouri al-Maliki said, quoted by the Anatolian agency.

His speech came at a meeting with US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silimon and concerns the referendum on independence prepared by authorities in the Iraqi Kurdistan Autonomous Region.
