102,000 suspects accused of Gülen links are ByLock users, Turkish communication authority says

Turkey's Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) has said that it analyzed various messages of 102,000 suspects accused of being members of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) and determined that they were sent through ByLock, the group's encrypted messaging application, Sabah daily reported on June 26.

Detention warrants issued for 79 Ankara Municipality personnel over Gülenist links

A total of 79 detention warrants were issued for Ankara Municipality personnel over suspected links to the movement of the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, widely believed to have masterminded the July 15, 2016, failed coup attempt. 

Police detain 39 municipality staff in Turkish capital over Gülen links 

Police on May 24 detained 39 municipality staff working for local governments in Ankara over their alleged use of ByLock, an encrypted messaging application linked to the Gülen movement, which is accused of perpetrating the July 2016 coup attempt.    

Earlier, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had issued detention warrants for a total of 79 municipality staff.

AKP, CHP move to become intervening parties in coup attempt case

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) have requested to become intervening parties in the case in which top soldiers are on trial over events at the General Staff Headquarters on the night of the July 15, 2016 coup attempt.
