Police detain 148 people after Syrian shops attacked

Turkish police detained 148 people in connection with attacks on homes and businesses believed to be owned by Syrian migrants in Ankara's Altındağ neighborhood.

The incidents broke out late on Aug. 11 in response to a fight between locals and migrants in which an 18-year-old Turkish man was stabbed to death.

14 detained over suspected links to YPG/PKK

Turkish security forces detained 14 people in the capital Ankara on Feb. 21 for their suspected links to the YPG/PKK terror group, police said.

Anti-terror squads carried out an operation to nab 15 foreign nationals, the Ankara police said in a tweet.

With 14 suspects detained, police hunt for the other suspect at large is underway.

Turkish scholar's murder suspect remains under house arrest in Ukraine

A fugitive suspect in the murder of a Turkish scholar researching the FETÖ terror group will remain under house arrest, a Ukrainian court said on Jan. 22.

The Kiev Court of Appeals was evaluating the prosecutor's office's objection against keeping Nuri Gökhan Bozkır under house arrest.
