The 20th Bodrum Ballet Festival will open on Aug 5 with the 'Harem' ballet to be staged by the Ankara State Opera and Ballet. The event will continue through Aug 17 in the historical places of Bodrum. Tickets for the festival are on sale at Biletinial.

The 14th International Istanbul Opera Festival opens today at Atatürk Cultural Center's (AKM) Türk Telekom Opera Hall and Theater Stage and will take place through June 22.

The fourth Bodrum Castle Events will kick off with the "Mediterranean Breeze" concert on July 16, with the Mersin State Opera and Ballet Orchestra, under the direction of Conductor Rustem Rahmedov, performing a program of popular songs accompanying Soprano Funda Uyanık and Tenor Hakan Aysev.

A former Turkish head ballet dancer from the Ankara State Opera and Ballet (ADOB) is training dancers in North Macedonia.

Bahri Gürcan said that he established a dancing school in the Turkish capital Ankara in 2007 and discovered talented children. His decision to open a school came after dancing abroad for years.

Bahar Korçan, Turkey's well-known fashion designer who opened the country's first fashion design office in 1993, died on Nov. 11 at the age of 57. 

The designer, who made clothes for Turkey's many acclaimed artists, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2016 and had been under treatment since then.

The fourth International Ephesus Opera and Ballet Festival will be organized between Aug. 24 and Sept. 3.

According to a statement made by the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet, the festival will be held this year in accordance with the COVID-19 measures.

The Ankara State Opera and Ballet (ADOB) will greet art lovers with the "Swan Lake" ballet, which was composed by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875 and staged for the first time at the Bolshoi Stage in 1877.

The world popular ballet "Zorba the Greek" will take the stage for the last time April 29 and 30 after a six-year run in Ankara, said Volkan Ersoy, director of Ankara State Opera and Ballet in an interview with state-run Anadolu Agency.

The Ankara State Opera and Ballet (ADOB) will bring the ballet performance of the great love story "Romeo and Juliet," adapted from William Shakespeare's work, to the stage. The ballet will be accompanied by the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

The Turkish ballet "Harem" (Seraglio), which blends classical ballet with Ottoman music, has become the longest-running ballet show in Turkey, having been staged by the Ankara State Opera and Ballet (ADOB) for 20 years.
