Serbia Urged to Take Action to Prevent High-Level Official Corruption

The Council of Europe's Group of States against Corruption, GRECO, said in its latest report on Tuesday that further measures are needed to prevent corruption among top public servants in Serbia, including the president, ministers, their assistants, state secretaries, chiefs of cabinet and political advisers, as well as police officials.

Pandora Papers Reveal Second Serbian Minister’s Hidden Offshore

After the Serbian investigative media outlet KRIK published confirmation of claims that Serbia's Finance Minister, Sinisa Mali, owned a portfolio of property in Bulgaria bought through secretive offshore companies, it has reported that the "Pandora Papers" also shed light on the hidden business activities of another Serbian minister - Novica Toncev, minister for developing poor municipalities.<

Kosovo Workers Threaten Strikes Over PM's Pay Hike

Unions representing Kosovo's public-sector workers are threatening to go on strike in support of their demand for higher salaries.

The warning comes after Kosovo's Constitutional Court ruled on June 11 that Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj 's decision to increase the salaries of cabinet members, judges and prosecutors, and his own salary by 100 per cent, does not break the law.

Anti-Corruption Agency observers monitoring election campaigns

BELGRADE - Observers of Serbia's Anti-Corruption Agency are monitoring the electoral campaigning of parties running for seats in the Belgrade City Assembly, the Agency has announced.

It said its observers would be monitoring the activities of all political entities on the ground until the announcement of the final results of the March 4 elections.
