Serbia's Supreme Court to Sit on Tsvetan Vasilev's Extradition Request on March 16
The Supreme Court of Serbia postponed its sitting on the request for the extradition of the Bulgarian businessman and majority owner of insolvent Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB), Tsvetan Vasilev to March 16.
Vasilev was expected to appear before the court in Belgrade on Wednesday in connection with the request of the Bulgarian prosecutor's office for his extradition.
Sofia City Court Acquits Former Labour Minister of Embezzlement Charges
Sofia City Court (SGS) acquitted on Tuesday former Labour and Social Policy Minister Emilia Maslarova of malfeasance in office and embezzlement charges.
Maslarova served as labour minister in the so-called triple coalition government, which was in power between 2005 and 2009.

Italy's Supreme Court Annuls 20-Year Prison Term of Alleged Drug Lord Evelin Banev
Italy's Supreme Court of Cassation has annulled the 20-year prison term of Bulgarian Evelin Banev AKA Brendo for drug trafficking and returned the case for retrial to the Appellate Court of Milan.
The Milan-based court is to hold a new trial within a year, according to Bulgaria's Legal World magazine and the 24 Hours daily.
The decision was taken at a 2-hour meeting.

Gendarme jailed for 40 years in double murder case
KRALJEVO -- The Higher Court in Kraljevo has confirmed the 40-year prison sentence previously handed down to Aleksandar Krstic, who was charged with double murder.
Krstic, a resident of Kraljevo, was serving as a member of the Serbian police Gendarmerie unit at the time the crime was committed, in July 2013.
