Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo

The Constitutional Court ruled on Monday that Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti's government is illegitimate because it was voted in by a majority in the Kosovo Assembly that included a vote cast by MP Etem Arifi, who was given a prison sentence for corruption.

Kosovo will hold snap elections on October 6th, the president's cabinet announced today after lawmakers voted last week to dissolve parliament following the departure of the prime minister, reported the Bulgarian National Television. 

The Constitutional Court in Kosovo on Thursday has thrown the future of the national negotiating team with Serbia into question after ruling that its mandate and competences of were unconstitutional.

The meeting between the two heads of state took place on Wednesday morning in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

Chairman of Assembly and Deputy Prime Ministers Behgjet Pacolli, Fatmir Limaj and Dardan Gashi also attended the meeting, writes the Gazeta Express and reports Kossev portal.

As RTK2 channel reports, the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo is expected to adopt a resolution that would ban Kosovo President Hashim Thaci from further negotiating with Belgrade about the territory of Kosovo.

The session will be held only three days before the announced Kosovo dialogue meeting in Brussels.
