Giannis Retsos – The goal of 15 billion euros for 2022 is achievable

Travel receipts for our country will reach 10 billion euros in 2021 while for 2022 the goal of 15 billion euros is achievable.

The above assessments were expressed by the president of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises, Giannis Retsos, speaking yesterday at the Conference: Greek Tourism, a national affair.

A déjà vu feeling brings back memories of 2012 as a number of major foreign tour operators are asking for drachma clauses to be included in contracts for the 2016 tourism season. Worried about the uncertainty in Greece, a number of operators want clauses to also contain clauses regarding a possible hotel tax hike, insisting that any additional taxes should be covered by hotels.
