Freeze on mortgage rates

Eurobank, Piraeus and Alpha Bank have announced that they will be keeping mortgage installments at their current levels for 12 months. As pledged by the first two banks, the baseline rates of serviced mortgage loans will remain at the levels they were on March 31, 2023, minus 20 basis points, for 12 months, starting in May. National Bank is expected to follow suit.

Loan adjustments: Greek Fin. Min meets with servicers

Loan arrangements were yesterday at the center of the meeting of Finance Minister Christos Staikouras with servicers. According to information, the two sides noted the progress that has been made, while they discussed their forecasts for the rest of 2023. The meeting was attended by the heads of the companies as well as Mr. Spyros Pantelias from the Bank of Greece.

Servicers to see sector grow further

The secondary loan market is expected to grow in 2021 and rise far above the 100-billion-euro level, while the new securitizations already announced are set to top €20 billion, the Association of Loan and Credit Claims Management Companies (EEDADP) stated on Thursday, on the occasion of its second birthday.
