Moderate tremor shakes Samos

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.4 shook the eastern Aegean island of Samos on Thursday. No damage or injuries were immediately reported.

Athens' Geodynamic Institute said the undersea quake had an epicentre 15 kilometers northwest of the island, near the epicentre of the deadly quake on October 30, 2020, when two people died.

Quake of 4.9 Richter hits off northeast Crete

An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale rattled the Aegean islands of Crete and Karpathos on Thursday afternoon. There are no preliminary reports of injuries or damages.

The quake struck at 3.36 p.m., 48 kilometers off the northeastern coast of Crete's Siteia region, in the sea area between Crete and Karpathos, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

4.5-magnitude quake hits off Crete

A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck 87 kilometers south of Ierapetra on the island of Crete on Wednesday at 4.09 a.m., according to the National Observatory of Athens' Geodynamic Institute.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake had a magnitude of 5 and occurred at a depth of 13.97 kilometers.

Moderate quake shakes central Greece

A tremor measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale shook the region of Karditsa, central Greece, on Thursday morning, based on a preliminary reading by Athens' Geodynamic Institute.

The epicenter of the earthquake, recorded at 11.24 a.m. was located 24 kilometres from Neohori and 42 kilometres northwest of Karpenisi, at a depth of just nine kilometres.
