Temporary closure of Maniatika metro station for installation of ticket equipment
The Maniatika metro station in Piraeus will be closed on Saturday and Sunday for the installation of electronic ticket sales equipment.
This temporary closure marks the initial phase of a project aimed at gradually implementing new entrance and exit gates, automatic ticket machines, and management centers across six stations along the extension of Line 3.
Bank cards to be used as bus tickets too
The Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) is planning for the conversion of bank cards into public transport tickets, following the example of other European states that have adopted such services in recent years.

Athens transport slows down for Easter
There will be changes in the frequency of public transport services in the Greek capital during the Easter holidays, the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) announced.
Buses and trolleys will operate on Holy Saturday as on every other Saturday but all drives will have pulled into their depots by 11 p.m.

Buses, trolleys holding new work stoppage on Thursday
Bus and trolley staff will hold a work stoppage on Thursday from 11:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m, the fifth day of such action, to demand safe and quality public transportation.
The last buses to carry out their schedules will leave depots as of 10:00 am in the morning. By 5:00 p.m. the same day, the schedules will operate as usual.
Work stoppage in buses and trolleys on Wednesday
Workers in Athens' buses and trolley-busses will continue their protest for a second day on Wednesday, with services running only between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., the Athens Urban Transport Organization's (OASA) workers' union said.
The union is calling for "safe and quality means of transport with respect to human lives." All other means of public transport will operate normally.

Athens buses to run from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday
Buses and trolleys in Athens on Tuesday will not run from shift's start until 9 a.m. and from 9 p.m. until shift's end, as announced by the Athens Urban Transport Organization's (OASA) workers' union.
The union said their mobilization concerns the need for upgrades in the company's bus fleet, which they say are long overdue. [AMNA]
Passenger traffic jumps in first days of June
Passenger traffic in Greek public transport jumped 13.94 percent on June 1, when further restrictive measures for the prevention of coronavirus eased, compared with the same day a week ago (May 25), according to data by the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) on Thursday.
A total of 931,876 tickets were validated on all public transport on June 1, versus 817,900 on May 25.

OASA, ELTA and ETAD pose threat to streamlining project
The coronavirus pandemic has created major uncertainties in the project for streamlining the state corporations controlled by the Hellenic Company of Assets and Participations (EESYP) and in the privatizations program of state asset utilization fund TAIPED, according to a European Commission report released on Wednesday.
Confusion over public transport cards
Given the 90 percent reduction in urban transport services, a growing number of commuters that had purchased long-duration bus, train and metro cards are reportedly demanding action from the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA).
The appeals have come particularly from commuters with three-month or annual cards.
