Afghan linked to criminal case, no ties to terrorism
Police investigating an Afghan man who was arrested in central Athens on Saturday carrying dozens of detonators in a backpack say he is implicated in a criminal case while a parallel probe into possible links to guerrilla groups has yet to yield any incriminating evidence.

Eleven Greeks tied to huge haul of cocaine in France
French authorities on Wednesday provided the Attica Police's narcotics division, the Hellenic Coast Guard and the Financial Crimes Squad with the names of 11 Greek nationals arrested on Tuesday in southern France in connection with a massive haul of cocaine.
According to sources, the suspects are all young men, none of whom has been previously convicted in Greece.
Police net 44 suspects in raids on major racket
Police authorities in Athens and the Dodecanese islands in the southeastern Aegean said on Wednesday they had smashed three criminal rings that worked together to distribute large quantities of cocaine, cannabis and hashish from Albania in Greece, and traffic people from Turkey to Greece and beyond.

Three arrested for kidnapping, raping 17-year-old Pakistani man
Attica police said on Monday they had arrested three Pakistani men, aged 17, 24 and 30, on charges of kidnapping, rape and blackmail, among other crimes.
Police break up two gangs
A gang distributing large quantities of contraband cigarettes in Greece has been unraveled, police said Thursday.
According to Attica Police Chief Christos Papazafiris, more than 16 million cigarettes and 4 tons of tobacco were confiscated.
The amount of money in lost tax and levy revenues, he said, amounted to more than 5 million euros.

Remains of 4-year-old unlikely to be found, says police chief
Attica police chief Christos Papazafiris on Tuesday said that it is unlikely that the remains of 4-year-old Ani Borisova will ever be found because of the way that her body was disposed of.
