Automobile Administration Executive Agency

A special Truck and Bus operation will be taking place from today, 14 October, to 20 October, in Bulgaria and all other member countries of the European Traffic Police Network TISPOL, said the Ministry of the Interior in a press release.

The inspections, part of a TISPOL operation - the European network of the traffic police services - will also include employees of the Automobile Administration Executive Agency.

Stanimir Florov, former head of the Interior Ministry's Chief Directorate "Combating Organized Crime" (GDBOP), has been nominated for the post of Director of the Automobile Administration Executive Agency (AAEA).

The prosecuting authority also pressed charges against an owner of a transport company, Ilko Iliev.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office has pressed charges against four officials of the Veliko Tarnovo unit of Bulgaria's Automobile Administration Executive Agency (AAEA).

Bulgaria's Automobile Administration Executive Agency (AAEA) has proposed that driver's license exams be conducted by private companies.

Dimitar Ganev, AAEA Director, emphasized that the proposal did not rule out state participation and that the state would remain in charge of external control.
