Romania wins gold, silver at International Physics Olympiad 2021
Team Romania, coordinated Professor Sebastian Popescu of the Faculty of Physics of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University (UAIC) in Iasi, won three gold and two silver medals at the International Physics Olympiad 2021.
UBB University, among world's top 500, first in Romania for economics, econometrics
The Faculty of Economics and Business Management (FSEGA) of the Cluj-Napoca-based Babes-Bolyai University (UBB) is ranking among the top 500 educational institutions in the world and it is first in Romania for subjects of economics and econometrics, according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) 2021.

The Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca is included in the QS World University Rankings, in the 800-1000 interval, the first 3 pct, together with the University of Bucharest, the only superior education institutions in Romania.
Universities to hold academic year opening festivities
Several universities in Bucharest and elsewhere in Romania are holding today festivities to mark the opening of academic year 2019-2020. They include the University of Bucharest, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) and the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, as well as several faculties within the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration.
Cluj-Napoca geologists chart climate changes using bat guano cave deposits
A team of geologists from the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca is conducting a research project that uses guano deposits in several Romanian caves, some of them more than 10,000 years old, to determine the climate changes occurred in various geological periods.

Open Book Night campaign to be carried out simultaneously in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca
The third edition of the Open Book Night campaign will be carried out on Thursday, on the occasion of the World Book Day, at the same time in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, the book lovers being invited to form chains around symbol-buildings in the two cities.

Central Bank governor Isarescu: Setting target date for adopting euro only apparently simple
National Bank of Romania (BNR) Governor Mugur Isarescu said in this central-western Romanian city on Monday that Romania currently meets the convergence criteria stipulated in the Maastricht Treaty, but stressed that setting a target date for a country to adopt the euro 'might seem a simple matter, but it isn't'.
Alpinist Alexandra Marcu to be awarded 2013 Explorer of the Year title
Sixteen-year-old student Alexandra Marcu of Deva, western Romania, will be awarded the 2013 Explorer of the Year title by Romania's Geographic Society as the youngest recipient.
