Serbia loses RSD 10 billion throug tax evasion in 14 months

BELGRADE - Over the past 14 months, Serbia's tax police filed 1,500 criminal charges over RSD 10 billion in evaded taxes, the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce (PKB) said in a release Thursday.

Half of the tax evasion charges concern the trade sector while a quarter of them concern services, tax police chief Sanda Malevic said at a meeting at the PKB on combating grey economy.

BELGRADE -- An association of Chinese businesspeople in Serbia was formed in Belgrade on Sunday, in the presence of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic.

Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang was also present as the association, which "aims to contribute to promoting bilateral economic cooperation," was established.

Mixed farms dominate in Serbia

BELGRADE - Serbian agriculture is dominated by mixed farms, since more than half of all the farms in the country (53.7 percent) belong to one of three groups of farms that both grow crops and breed animals, according to what has been said at the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce.
