Ankara is aiming to swiftly conclude the ongoing talks with the United States over its request to purchase 40 new F-16 fighter jets and 79 modernization kits for the existing fleets, the top Turkish diplomat has said.

The Biden administration is developing plans for Venezuelans with financial sponsors to be granted parole to enter the United States, similar to how Ukrainians have been admitted after Russia's invasion, U.S. officials said Tuesday.

Two provisions that were set to restrict the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Türkiye in the U.S. Senate version of the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) bill have been dropped, daily Hürriyet has reported on Oct. 11. 

The U.S. Senate removed the conditions during a 2023 defense budget meeting.
