Two conditions on F-16 sales to Türkiye removed from US bill

Two provisions that were set to restrict the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Türkiye in the U.S. Senate version of the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) bill have been dropped, daily Hürriyet has reported on Oct. 11. 

The U.S. Senate removed the conditions during a 2023 defense budget meeting.

Treasury sanctions Iranian firms for drone sales to Russia

The U.S. Treasury Department has announced that it is levying sanctions against four Iranian companies that it says were involved in sending drones to Russia last month for use in Moscow's war against Ukraine.

Tehran-based Safiran Airport Services, Paravar Pars Company, Design and Manufacturing of Aircraft Engines, and Baharestan Kish Company were all hit with the new sanctions.

China tariffs to remain in place pending review: US

The US government has confirmed it will continue enforcing the tariffs on Chinese goods imposed by former president Donald Trump, following hundreds of requests from American companies.    

President Joe Biden had been considering how and whether to remove some of the tariffs by his predecessor, amid pressure to offer some relief to soaring U.S. inflation.
