Former Bosnian Defence Minister Indicted for Abuse of Office
Former Bosnian defence minister Selmo Cikotic was charged on Monday with having abused his official position as defence minister from 2009 till 2011 by unlawfully favouring a buyer to the detriment of the ministry he led when planning the export and sale of surplus outdated weapons, ammunition and military equipment.
Soldier Praising Mladic Faces Discipline After BIRN Report
The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina has launched disciplinary proceedings against a soldier named Djordje Tojcic, whose Instagram profile praised the former Bosnian Serb military commander Ratko Mladic.
The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, found Mladic guilty of genocide in Srebrenica and other wartime crimes in November.
Bosnia Readies for Potential Refugee Influx
Bosnia's Defence Ministry is ready to make available five military facilities to accommodate refugees from the Middle East if their nomal route through the region changes to include Bosnia, the ministry told BIRN on Tuesday.
