Moscow Claims Russian Jets and Ships Fired upon British Warship in Black Sea, UK Denies
More than 20 Russian aircraft and two coastguard ships have shadowed a British warship sailing near Crimea.
Moscow's defence ministry said that HMS Defender entered Russian territorial waters near Crimea while a patrol ship fired warning shots and a jet dropped bombs in its path.
Britain's Ministry of Defence (MoD) said no warning shots were fired.
British Police Arrest Man Trying to Force Entry into U.S. Military Base
British police arrested a man who tried to force his way into a military base in central England used by the U.S. air force, triggering a brief lockdown, Reuters reported.
The Mildenhall Royal Air Force base said security staff locked down the base, used by the United States to refuel U.S. and NATO aircraft in Europe, at about 1300 GMT following reports of a disturbance.
Five killed in British helicopter crash in Afghanistan
Five members of NATO's international support mission in Afghanistan were killed and five injured when a British military helicopter crashed in the capital, Kabul, officials said on Oct. 12.
