Two airplanes belonging to the British Royal Air Force executed on Tuesday an air police mission in international airspace over the Black Sea, to intercept an aircraft of the Russian Federation.

Chief of the German Air Force, Lieutenant General Ingo Gerhartz and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Major General Viorel Pana, signed on Thursday, during a ceremony held at the 57th Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, the Declaration of Intent on the Development of Bilateral Relations in the aviation sector.

Romania's Defence Minister Mihai Fifor on Monday welcomed UK ambassador to Romania Andrew Noble to discuss Romanian-UK defence co-operation, according to a press statement released by the Defence Ministry (MApN).

Fifor and Noble emphasised NATO relations as well as current European affairs at their meeting at the MApN headquarters.

The US Air Force is to spend 40 million US dollars by mid-2019 on refurbishing an air base in Transylvania, Romania, a US Air Forces in Europe spokesperson told BIRN.
