Shots fired at police in Brussels during anti-terror raid

Shots have been fired at Brussels police during a house raid in the southern suburb of Forest, in Brussels.

According to local media, gun fires were heard in an apartment.

A police officer was injured during the raid, though it was unclear whether he was hit by gunfire, a police spokeswoman said, as cited by Reuters.

One soldier killed in PKK attack in Turkey's southeast

One soldier was killed on Nov. 30 in an attack by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the Derik district of the southeastern province of Mardin, where a curfew had been declared by security forces, the General Staff has stated.

PKK militants attacked a military vehicle with rocket-propelled weapons, killing one soldier and injuring another, according to initial reports.

Turkish Cypriot leader lends support to arrested journalists in Turkey

Turkish Cypriot President Mustafa Ak?nc? has expressed his solidarity with the arrested editor-in-chief of Turkish daily Cumhuriyet and its Ankara bureau chief.

Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to meet his Turkish counterpart Erdo?an at a climate summit in Paris on Nov. 30, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

Peskov said Putin was likely to talk to U.S. President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the summit.

PKK militants attack commission investigating Elçi's death for second time

Militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attacked a commission investigating the killing of Diyarbak?r Bar Association head Tahir Elçi on Nov. 30. The incident marks the second attack on the group investigating the site where Elçi was killed in the southeastern city of Diyarbak?r's Sur district.
