"Ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova categorically does not respect Bulgaria". This is what the resigned Defense Minister Dragomir Zakov thinks.

Russia has declared diplomats from the Bulgarian embassy in Moscow undesirable, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. Later, the news was confirmed by the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry.

The measure is in response to the expulsion of 10 Russian diplomats from Bulgaria in March.

The note for the expulsion was handed to our ambassador in Russia Atanas Krastin.

Russia has declared two employees of the Bulgarian embassy in Moscow persona non grata as a retaliatory measure. This was stated in a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry today, quoted by TASS.

Bulgarian Ambassador to Russia Atanas Krastin, who paid a visit to the Russian Foreign Ministry earlier on Tuesday, received a note about Moscow's response to the expulsion of two Russian diplomats from Sofia.

Russia is expelling the Bulgarian military attache's aide Lieutenant-Colonel Mitko Borisov in retaliation for the expulsion of a Russian diplomat from Sofia. A note to this effect was handed to Bulgaria's ambassador in Moscow Atanas Krastin, who was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on Monday.

At a meeting with the Bulgarian community in Moscow, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva expressed her hope that Bulgarian students in Russia would soon be eligible for part-time work and internships.

A Bulgarian delegation led by National Assembly President Tsveta Karayancheva is on an official visit to Moscow.

Meetings of Bulgarian MPs in the Federation Council and the State Duma, as well as talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, are forthcoming.

Last night at the Bulgarian Embassy in Moscow, MPs met with representatives of the Bulgarian community.  

Bulgaria's Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova said on Friday that Russia is a partner of strategic importance in the area of tourism for her country, TASS reported.

"An extremely frank dialogue has been established between our countries, which favors expanding and deepening of relations in the tourism sector," Angelkova said in an interview with the Russian news agency.

Bulgaria's former ambassador to Russia Ilian Vassilev is on Moscow's list of 89 European Union politicians barred from entering Russia, the Foreign Ministry in Sofia said on Saturday.

Bulgaria's Embassy in Moscow has issued the 100,000th visa for 2014 to a 2-year-old Russian girl, the Ministry of Economy and Energy informed, Saturday.

The Bulgarian Ambassador to Russia Boyko Kotzev greeted Oksana and her mother Elena Shishkina, who accepted the visa.
