The Minister of Innovation and Growth Alexander Pulev and President Rumen Radev will participate in the ceremony of Bulgaria's accession to the European Battery Alliance, organized by the Bulgarian Investment Agency (BAI) and the European Battery Alliance (EBA).

At the event, BAI and EBA will sign a declaration for Bulgaria's accession to the Alliance.

Direct Turkish investments in Bulgaria exceed EUR 1 billion, almost half of them have received some form of state support through the Bulgarian Investment Agency (BIA). Over 2,200 Turkish companies have chosen Bulgaria as a preferred place to do business, as they are one of the largest employers in our country.

"We already have a registered interest from Ukrainian companies that aim to relocate their businesses to Bulgaria," Bogdan Bogdanov, director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency (BIA), told BNR.

Today he is participating in a joint webinar with the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In the span of five weeks, 602 foreign companies sent letters about intended investments in Bulgaria, caretaker Economy Minister Kiril Petkov told a briefing on Tuesday during which he reported on the results of a competition to this end among the economic advisors of Bulgarian services for trade and economic issues abroad.

For the period January-May 2019, Bulgarian exports to the Republic of Korea registered an increase of nearly 25% compared to the same period last year and reached BGN 54.8 million. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Economy at an event organized by the Korean-Bulgarian Association for friendship, attended by many Korean investors from different sectors.

On April 15, 2019 in Budapest, Hungary, in the framework of the Second Meeting of the Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Hungarian Commission for Economic Cooperation, BSMEPA together with its Hungarian partner - the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency organized a business forum with bilateral meetings.

In the period 26 - 28 March 2019, the President of Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, had an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt. During the visit, he was accompanied by Deputy Executive Director of Bulgarian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), Mrs. Yana Topalova and a business delegation of 34 representatives of the Bulgarian business.

The President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, had an official visit to the Republic of Slovenia on 11 and 12 March. During the visit he was accompanied by Deputy Executive Director of Bulgarian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), Mrs. Yana Topalova and a business delegation.

JYSK Bulgaria received the Investor of the Year Award 2018. The company invested over 100 million euros in a new distribution center located in Bozhurishte near Sofia. The facility has two fully automated 42.5 meter warehouses and will operate at full capacity by June 2019.
