Bulgarians working abroad remain a major investor in the Bulgarian economy. According to data from the balance of payments of the Bulgarian National Bank, since the beginning of the year they have sent nearly 400 million euro to their relatives.

Today The Bulgarian National Bank puts a silver commemorative coin "Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi" from the series "Bulgarian Revival" into circulation.

The price of the coin is 78 leva.

It will be sold in BNB, as well as in offices and branches of four more banks.

The Commission on Protection of Competition has permitted Post Bank, with legal name Eurobank Bulgaria AD, to acquire Piraeus Bank, Bulgaria.

After permission for the deal was given by the Bulgarian National Bank, the financial entity is now the fourth biggest financial institution in terms of assets in Bulgaria.

At the end of March 2019, the money in circulation reached BGN 16 855.9 million, rising by 10.55 per cent or by BGN 1608.5 million on an annual basis, the Bulgarian National Bank reports.

At the end of March 2019, the deposits of the non-government sector amounted to BGN 79.096 billion, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) reported. This is 68.4% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for 2019, which the BNB expects to be 115.646 billion levs.

The Bulgarian National Bank will print the ballots for the European elections. This is stated in a decision published on the website of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).

Household loans are growing at a faster rate than deposits, the Bulgarian National Bank statistics show at the end of January.

Households hold a total of BGN 51.647 billion at the end of the first month of 2019, while the increase compared to the same period last year was 8.5%.
