Olympic Glory Alley Opened in Bulgaria

An Alley of Bulgaria's Olympic Glory was officially opened on Friday in the town of Sveti Vlas on the Black Sea coast of the country, the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) said.

The alley, which is located on one of the busiest streets, contains the bas-reliefs of the 48 Bulgarian athletes who have won 52 Olympic gold medals for Bulgaria, the BOC said in a press release.

296 Boxers From 39 Countries Participated in a Boxing Tournament in Bulgaria

The 70th edition of the Strandja International Boxing Tournament kicked off here in the Sofia hall on Thursday, reported xinhuanet.com

As many as 296 boxers from 39 countries and regions, including China, participate in the six-day competition.

The semifinals will be on Monday and the finals are scheduled for Tuesday.

Bulgaria to Send 24 Athletes to Buenos Aires Youth Olympics

SOFIA, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria will send 24 athletes to the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires next month, the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) said here on Tuesday.

The 24 athletes will compete in 14 sports, the BOC said.

BOC's president Stefka Kostadinova will lead the Bulgarian delegation.

Bulgaria Sends at Least 19 Athletes in the Olympic Games PyongChang `18

At least 19 athletes will be included in the Bulgarian delegation at the XXIII Winter Olympics in PyongChang '18 (9-25 February). The composition was endorsed by the General Assembly of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, and it could additionally include athletes who eventually manage to meet the norm by the end of the month.

Bulgarian Dunekova Proves She Did Not Use Doping

The disciplinary committee with the Bulgarian  Olympic Committee exculpated national record runner in the 3,000m steeplechase Silvia Dunekova on the case with the positive doping test before the start of Rio Olympics 2016, BNR reported.

The global agencies commented before the start of the games that Dunekova was the first sportsperson, nabbed with doping in Rio.

127 Bulgarian Athletes to Compete at First European Games in Baku

A total of 127 Bulgarian athletes (60 women and 67 men) will represent the country at the First European Games, which will be held in Baku between June 12 and 28.

Bulgarian representatives will compete in 23 out of the 30 sports, which are featured in the games, daily Dnevnik reports.
