Bulgarian Community in Odesa Honors Hristo Botev's Legacy on 176th Anniversary

Representatives of the Bulgarian community in Odesa gathered to commemorate the 176th birth anniversary of poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev with a tribute event organized by the All-Ukrainian Centre for Bulgarian Culture and the local Bulgarian Society.

API Has Selected an International Toll Collection Service Company

The Bulgarian company of one of the leading international technology companies, Concor Smart Infrastructure AD, is selected by the Road Infrastructure Agency (API) for a third national service provider  for electronic toll collection.

At present, API has contracts for this activity with the Bulgarian companies Intelligent Traffic Systems EAD and Teletol AD.

4506 Cases of Harassment and Bullying have been Registered in Schools in Bulgaria

There were 4506 cases of aggression and harassment during the past academic year. This was announced by Tanya Mihaylova, Deputy Minister of Education at the round table "Aggression in the Bulgarian Society - A Necessity to Counteract" in the Parliament, reports sega. 

There were 402 cases of violence against children and 39 cases of violence against teachers.

Bulgaria's Patriotic Front Submits Motion to Ban Wearing Burqas in Public Places

Bulgaria's Patriotic Front proposed to Parliament on Wednesday to ban the wearing in public places of burqas, or head veils hiding the face, citing potential threats to national security.

If approved, the proposed new article in the Penal Code would ban the wearing of any apparel that hides the face of a person entirely or in part.

Bulgaria's Patriotic Front Demands Compulsory Voting for Local Elections

The Patriotic Front (PF), one of the parties supporting the coalition government, demands the introduction of compulsory voting in Bulgaria prior to the forthcoming local elections in the autumn.

The PF will initiate amendments to the Election Code to ensure compulsory voting is introduced for the local elections, daily Dnevnik reports.
