Bulgarian President Rumen Radev took a decisive stance today, vetoing the agreement for the provision of armored transport vehicles to Ukraine. The ratified deal, aiming to donate equipment from Bulgaria's Interior Ministry to Ukraine's Ministry of Defence, faced a significant setback as the President returned it to Parliament for further discussion.

In October, Bulgaria's Interior Ministry revealed a significant decline in illegal migrant detentions by 41% compared to September 2023. A total of 1,359 individuals from third countries were apprehended, with 122 caught entering, 134 leaving, and 1,103 found within the country.

Bulgaria's Interior Ministry, together with the General Directorate for Combating Organised Crime (GDCOC), cracked down on an organized crime group of doctors who issued t fake labor disability cerrifictes which  inflicted admage to the state budget at a cost of millions of levs.

Bulgaria's Interior Ministry is monitoring the situation in the country and the capital because of the Lukov March planned for this Saturday in Sofia, Interior Minister Mladen Marinov said. Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova has issued an order banning the Lukov March. Fandakova expects the police would ensure the public order.

Bulgarian and Greek special forces took part in a joint anti-terrorist training exercise at the Ilinden border checkpoint, Bulgaria's Interior Ministry said, quoted by the Independent Balkan News Agency. 

The scenario in the exercise was to neutralise a terrorist group located in a former embassy, the statement said.

For the first time in years, Bulgaria's Interior Ministry reported a positive balance in terms of the number of migrants taken out of the country, compared to the number of foreign citizens who entered Bulgarian territory illegally.

Bulgaria's Interior Ministry will launch a three-month operation for counteracting household crime in small and remote areas by using 1,140 police cars.

Bulgaria's Interior Ministry has introduced "code yellow" for increased security measures during the holidays.

There will be enhanced security for maintaining order at public places. The main sites of increased police presence are malls, Sofia Airport and Sofia bus station.

An official European warrant has been issued for the arrest of 26-year old Svetoslav Stoykov. Bulgaria's Interior Ministry continues to look for him because of the incident in the metro in Berlin which caused outrage in Germany.

Vehicles are moving both ways through the Bulgaria-Greece border at all crossing points as of Sunday evening, Bulgaria's Interior Ministry has said.

The development follow a month of blockades set up by protesting Greek farmers along their country's borders and nearly a week of a "counter-blockade" staged by Bulgarian transit truck drivers in response.
