Health minister slams prosecutors for taking action against staff

Alternate Health Minister Pavlos Polakis on Tuesday hit out at the judicial officials who conducted an investigation into the appointment of medical staff to the Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO), which has resulted in three ministry staff being accused of flouting the proper procedures.

Council of State rules in favor of KEELPNO board members

A ruling issued Tuesday by the Council of State deemed that a decision in May by Alternate Health Minister Pavlos Polakis to force the resignation of three members of the managing board of the Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) was illegal and in violation of the Constitution.

Raids on firm of BoG chief's wife raise questions

Investigators on Thursday carried out surprise raids on the company offices of Stavroula Nikolopoulou, the spouse of Bank of Greece Governor Yannis Stournaras, as well as the couple's home, as part of a probe into the alleged mismanagement of state funding for the Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO).
