Turkey Intends to Ban E-Cigarettes
The Turkish government intends to ban the sale and import of e-cigarettes, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced, BTA reported.
The matter will be discussed in Parliament.

Official toll from flu climbs to 74
The death toll from a particularly bad flu season this year has climbed to 74, data for the week of February 11-17 from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO) showed on Thursday.
The figures showed that 18 people died of flu-related causes in that period, an improvement from the 56 deaths recorded the week before that.

Flu virus has claimed 39 lives since October
Thirty-nine people in Greece have died after contracting flu since last October, most of whom had not been vaccinated, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO). Among the victims was an infant under the age of 12 months which had a pre-existing medical condition.

Flu activity near peak
Greek authorities have urged the public to adhere to influenza transmission prevention strategies including respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette, avoidance of closed crowded spaces and getting a flu jab to rein in the spread of the disease.

Eighteen fatalities as a result of flu recorded
The Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO) said on Thursday that a total of 18 people -14 men and four women, ranging from 25 to 90 - have died of flu complications since the beginning of the year.
According to the center, 12 of them died in the week from January 21 to 27.

Gastroenteritis spike in Kastoria prompts KEELPNO public warning
More than 400 cases of gastroenteritis have been reported in the region of Kastoria in northern Greece so far this year, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO).
Laboratory tests on stool samples have shown that the gastroenteritis was caused by a virus.

A flu epidemic across Greece has so far claimed the lives of four people since the fall, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO) said on Saturday.
Moreover, the total number of people that have so far been placed in intensive care since September is 35, with only three having been vaccinated.
