The voting process abroad for the Romanian parliamentary elections ended with the closing of the last polling stations on the West Coast of the United States of America and Canada, at 9.00 pm local time (07.00 am Romania's time). Romanians abroad had two days to vote in this election. After the polls closed in the country on Sunday at 9.00 pm (local hour), the vote in the diaspora continued.

The turnout in Romania's general election this Sunday was 31.11 percent as of 20:00 hrs, with 5,659,852 people having turned out to the polls, according to data released by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC). In urban areas, 3,045,446 voters went to the polls and 2,614,406 people cast ballots in rural areas. A total of 70,103 voters used the mobile ballot box.

The turnout in Romania's general election this Sunday was 29.80 percent as of 19:00 hrs, with 5,421,794 people having turned out to the polls, according to data released by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC). The turnout in the country at the parliamentary elections was, on Sunday, at 3.00 pm, of 19.60pct, i.e. 3,567,107 voters, according to a report of the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) . In urban areas, 1,959,722 voters went to the polls, and in rural areas - 1,607,385. A number of 38,759 voters voted by using the mobile ballot box.

The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) requested, at Saturday's sitting, the Romanian Post - Posta Romana - SA National Company for more information on the vote expressed by correspondence in the parliamentary election by Romanians in the Diaspora.

 Amendments to the government decision on the state of alert put forth by the National Emergency Management Committee (CNSU) are to be approved today at a government meeting.
