With five-year delay, CIA 'live-tweets' bin Laden raid

The CIA has marked the anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden by live-tweeting - with a five-year delay - the raid by U.S. special forces on the al-Qaeda founder's compound in Pakistan.

Using the hashtag #UBLRaid, the CIA blasted out updates of the May 2011 strike as if it was unfolding in real time - in a highly unusual move for the secretive spy agency.

CIA Chief Visits Bosnia for Anti-Terror Talks

CIA chief John Brennan met Bosnian security officials on Friday to discuss security issues in the Balkan country, Dragan Lukac, head of the Federation entity's police directorate, said after the meeting.

Local experts said the visit was also an opportunity for Bosnia's security agencies and institutions to improve quality of their counter-terrorism activities.

Pentagon says first step in anti-ISIL battle in Iraq, Syria 'complete'

The U.S.-led coalition campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Iraq and Syria has successfully completed its first "phase" of operations, Baghdad-based U.S. military spokesman Colonel Steve Warren said April 13.  

The coalition is working through three main steps as it wages its 20-month-old fight against ISIL, Warren said. 

US prosecutor in spotlight of Turkish Twitter users after fraud charge on Zarrab

U.S. prosecutor Preet Bharara who has charged Turkish-Iranian businessman Reza Zarrab for fraud has been in the spotlight of Turkish Twitter users following the news of Zarrab's arrest.

Bharara's Twitter followers increased from around 20,000 to more than 115,000 in just 24 hours with Turkish users mentioning him with admiration and praises.
