Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov addressed the Bulgarian Socialist Party's (BSP) call for urgent parliamentary hearings regarding statements made during his recent visit to Ukraine. Denkov firmly asserted that the notion of sending troops to Ukraine was never raised, despite BSP's concerns.

The leader of GERB, Boyko Borissov, has raised concerns about the growing pre-election atmosphere in Bulgaria, stating that it is detrimental to the state's interests. Borissov's comments come amidst heightened political tensions and discussions surrounding a proposed memorandum put forth by the We Continue Change party.

Authorities have described the blast, which happened as Geshev's vehicle was slowing down on a highway near the town of Samokov on Monday, as intended to kill the top prosecutor.

Geshev was travelling with his wife and children but no one in the car was injured.

The socialist PASOK-Movement for Change party unveiled its at-large list, made up of 15 candidates, for the May 21 election Saturday.

The Supreme Court has ruled that the Patrida party of Afroditi Latinopoulou cannot contest the upcoming elections due to issues with its name.

In a unanimous decision, the court upheld a complaint from outgoing MP Konstantinos Bogdanos, whose Patriotic Force for Change party is commonly known by its abbreviation Patrida, about the name of Latinopoulou's organization.

A total of 162 ballot boxes will be set up in Türkiye for Bulgarian citizens residing in the country as Bulgaria heads to the polls for parliamentary elections for the fifth time in the last two years.

Bulgaria will hold another parliamentary election - its fifth in two years - after the Socialist Party on Tuesday announced that it had failed to form a government and had returned the unfulfilled mandate to the country's president.

This is the third time Radev has handpicked an interim government.
